SUMMARY:Corporate Intelligence Analysis\, Tradecraft and Writing - Virtual
DESCRIPTION:The pandemic changed almost everything. But one thing it didn’t change\, is the need for private sector intelligence analysis. In fact\, it deepened it. \nStill\, there are very few courses that specifically address intelligence analysis\, tradecraft\, and writing for the business environment.  As intelligence professionals who have worked in government intelligence and industries diverse as oil and gas\, airlines\, agriculture and consumer products\, we believe that success in private sector intelligence is built on approaching the discipline from a business perspective – not just applying government intelligence techniques to this distinct and unique environment.   That is why we created this dynamic training and interactive writing workshop. \nOur new format allows distanced\, self-paced learning\, with weekly check-ins for two hours per week and an optional individual check-ins as needed.  And after the training is over\, students will have access to monthly webinars for the next six months\, allowing them to continue their learning beyond the course. \nThe modulized training includes: \n\nIntelligence techniques for the corporate environment\nSupporting the value chain through intel requirements\nBuilding a source network\nEnabling business through intelligence analysis\nUnderstanding the business beyond security\nSources and methods\nUnderstanding disinformation\nWriting for business\nAnalytic tradecraft and techniques\nMarketing your intelligence function and demonstrating value\nUsing data and visualizations to enhance analysis and engage consumers.\n\nParticipants will receive access to the online Emergent Risk Training Room where they will work through each week’s lessons. The group will then meet in-person online once per week. The first week the group will also meet for an introduction to the course. \nSession meet Tuesdays @ 10 am-12 pm BST and Thursdays @ 12 pm-2 pm EST

SUMMARY:Data Visualization: The Basics
DESCRIPTION:This is a three-part training designed for intelligence analysts\, to help them learn more about using data effectively. This training will equip analysts with the tools and knowledge to expand their use of data and visualizations to be more effective and deeper – helping them bridge the gap between their analysis and their busy readers who don’t always have time to take in a longer form paper. The course will include familiarization exercises with different types of data\, understanding today’s information landscape\, distinguishing between different types of datasets\, the importance of using data in our analysis\, bias and misinterpretation of data\, and more. This course is free for ERI Situation Room subscribers and $500 for non subscribers. There is a morning and afternoon iteration of this course which meets for an hour each Wednesday (from April 6) or Thursday (from April 7) for three weeks. Classes are virtual and take place at 8:30am EST on Wednesday and 4pm EST on Thursdays. Please email us at eriteam@emergentriskinternational.com to register.
