Emergent Risk International Welcomes National Security & Intelligence Expert David Priess to Advance Intelligence Workforce Transformation

Emergent Risk International (ERI), is pleased to announce that Dr. David Priess, a renowned voice in the US intelligence and national security community, has joined the company to help lead the next phase of strategic innovation in training, tradecraft, and talent development.

A former CIA officer and trainer of analysts, a former briefer of the President’s Daily Brief (PDB), author of The President’s Book of Secrets (a history of the PDB published by PublicAffairs in 2016), and frequent commentator on intelligence and the presidency, Dr. Priess brings decades of experience to ERI at a critical moment for the global risk and intelligence field. As emerging technologies – including AI – rapidly reshape the intelligence landscape, ERI is investing in future-forward workforce capabilities, building on our industry-leading training portfolio and deep partnerships across government and private sector clients.

Dr. Priess will play a central role in expanding and innovating ERI’s industry-leading intelligence and training offerings. He will advise on upskilling ERI’s staff and clients on AI and intelligence skillsets of the future, build on and lead ERI’s industry-leading intelligence courses, develop new products, and broaden ERI’s growing C-Suite and Board level consulting practice globally. Importantly, his appointment is another critical addition building on ERI’s vision of equipping today and tomorrow’s businesses with the intelligence and geopolitical skills needed to build resilience and capitalize on opportunity in this dynamic risk environment.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to the ERI team,” said Meredith Wilson, CEO of ERI. “His deep expertise, credibility, and passion for the craft of intelligence will be instrumental as we continue building the resilient, agile intelligence workforce of the future – one that is empowered by technology, grounded in rigorous tradecraft, and prepared to deliver clarity in an increasingly complex world.”

Dr. Priess’s addition reflects ERI’s continued strategic direction: building future forward resilience through agile and technology adaptive intelligence products, analysts, and training in a time of disruptive change. His perspective on the institutional history and future of the intelligence community will enhance both the internal development of ERI’s team and ultimately, the value delivered to clients around the globe.

“For years now, I’ve been a fan of ERI’s people, their mission, and their commitment to excellence in intelligence analysis,” said David Priess, Global Head of Training & Education of ERI. “I’m excited to join an organization that understands both the enduring value of sound analytic tradecraft and the imperative to evolve as new tools and challenges emerge. I look forward to contributing to this important work.”

ERI’s clients and partners can expect to benefit directly from Dr. Priess’s insights through a range of upcoming training courses, workshops, and bespoke strategic engagements, all designed to enhance analytic rigor and decision advantage in the age of AI.
